Three Palms Hotel manager: Yes, we're open and we have hot water

The parking lot of the Three Palms Hotel in downtown Bay City is mostly empty and a red dumpster slowly fills with refuse, but its new manager says the unofficial "gateway to the city" is open for business. John Quinn, manager at the hotel at Saginaw and Seventh, said the hotel opened in early July and is currently undergoing a full renovation that includes new tile floors in all bathrooms, a fresh coat of paint in all 100 guest rooms and updates to infrastructure and furniture. "And we have hot water," said Quinn. "It's a work in progress but we have plans to make this place great." Quinn said the hotel averages about one room per night and had about 12 during Pig Gig three weeks ago.
